Ansel Adams (1902–1984) is the legendary photographer and environmentalist best
known for his visionary landscape photographs, particularly those taken in California’s Yosemite Valley. Adams transcended merely documenting the landscape: he pioneered the idea of previsualizing what the print should look like, based upon a desire to communicate his feelings about the actual scene. The photographs will be on loan from Adams’ granddaughter Alison Jaques, a Chico State alumnus (1983,B.S. Business).
